Down Syndrome Awareness Month — Nina: The Grateful Soul
October 16, 2025
“My big dream is to give her a life that she could be happy and successful and feel fulfilled.”
Isn’t that what we want for all our kids? All I ever want for both my girls is to feel loved and valued just as they are and know that they are making a difference and they matter. ❤️
I love how Nina walked into college not knowing anyone, and now she’s living the college dream, spending time with friends, building her confidence, and dreaming of working in a greenhouse someday. Not only does she have some amazing dance moves, she’s got the kindest, most gentle and grateful spirit that shines through everything she does.
I love how her mom says “Having Down syndrome doesn’t excuse you from contributing to the world.” People with Down syndrome have SO much to contribute to this world…just by being their authentic selves! And I think that extra chromosome only enhances all the awesomeness, perspective and joy they share with us all.
