Ruby really does take pride in what we are doing. She sits on my lap as applications roll in and and looks at the pictures and watches ALL the videos with me. And even though she talks about college a lot, I always say that what we are doing isn’t JUST about college…
Ruby may choose not to go to college (I didn’t go to college and I turned out OK-ish
) BUT her having the OPPORTUNITY and others seeing her as WORTHY means EVERYTHING. Regardless of ANY person’s path in life…having people surrounding you that BELIEVE in you…that have high expectations for your future…will only lift you up.

Regardless of ANY person’s path in life…having people surrounding you that BELIEVE in you…that have high expectations for your future…will only lift you up.When I first had this idea of Ruby’s Rainbow, I didn’t even know if people with Down syndrome were going to college, I just knew I wanted the world to see what I saw in my own daughter. That she was amazing and capable and deserving of ALL the things!
