“I want other people with disabilities to see that they don’t have to be afraid or ashamed of having a difference… they don’t need to pretend, they just need to be themselves and let people support them.”
From college graduate to independent living to making a REAL difference in her community – Martha is showing us all what DREAMING BIG is all about!
Now that she has graduated from Georgia Tech it seems she is busier than ever! She works at her local YMCA creating activities for people of ALL abilities, lives in her own apartment, and was recently appointed by the governor to serve on the Georgia Council of Developmental Disabilities where she continues to advocate for disability rights. She’s truly ROCKIN’ IT! 💙
Her boss says Martha “brings out the best in everyone. Neurotypical and neurodivergent” and has taught, not only the staff, but HER so much about what it’s like to live with a disability. And of course, Martha’s dynamic personality creates community wherever she goes! ❤️
