Ruby’s Dad: Partner with Teachers!

My hubby is a former special education teacher, and the one who really gave me confidence when Ruby was born that it was all going to be ok. Having a birth diagnosis and not knowing ANYTHING about Down syndrome, he literally looked at me right after we found out she had that magical extra chromosome and said, “some of my favorite students have Down syndrome!” ❤️
Our family dream for her was to be included in life and community and for her to know she was loved and accepted AS SHE IS. But inclusion can be hard! So working with teachers and administrators as a team is something he has always been passionate about because he has been on both sides. I know it isn’t always rainbows and unicorns and sometimes you have to really fight hard and advocate for what is right, but my dream is that we can all come together for the ultimate goal of a more inclusive world for EVERYONE ❤️
