Thank you for showing interest in the 3/21 Pledge! If you have made your way to our page, you have in some way been impacted by our Luke or another amazing person rocking an extra chromosome. If we haven’t yet met, allow me to introduce you to my peeps: We are the Maloneys! My name is Sarah, mama to four hooligans and ER nurse (aka: coordinator of chaos). My husband Brendan works as a construction supervisor and is the world’s best dad to our kiddos, Jake (8), Luke (6), Grace (4), and Clare (2).
When we welcomed our second son into the world six years ago, we were surprised to learn he carried an extra chromosome. Having not known anyone in our life intimately with Down syndrome, we had no idea how abundantly we had been blessed by this upgrade of chromosomes! We also had little to no knowledge about the possibilities available to Luke or other people with Down syndrome – including the possibility of education following high school!
We have every hope that Luke will continue education following high school if that is what he should choose. It is for that reason that we are honored to be part of the 3/21 Pledge Committee this year! We are raising money and awareness to provide a scholarship in Luke’s name to a young man or woman with Down syndrome! Pledge here today!
