Jade LeBlanc

Hey Everyone! We are the LeBlanc Family! We live in Broussard, LA. with three children. Our journey so far through life has been unique and one we will cherish forever.
We have a 9 year old daughter, Emmi. We also have 2 year old twins, Mila and Koah.
Mila and Koah’s birth was a very interesting birth. At 29 weeks, our high-risk doctor sent us directly from our appt to the hospital because of Koah’s blood flow and placenta. She was expecting to deliver the twins that weekend. Our brains only could think of the negative impact of delivering twins at 29 weeks weighing only 1lb each. With lots of prayers from our family and community I was able to stay on strict bed rest in the hospital for 6 weeks . We successfully delivered the twins at 34 weeks.
The twins had their share of issues while in the NICU. But Koah’s condition was still the most challenging, We received his diagnosis at 2 weeks after birth. A nurse noticed markers on Koah that led to future testing by the neonatologist. The doctor explained to my husband what they were concerned about and my husband was in disbelief. When he explained their concerns with me I was completely devastated. We grieved and felt every emotion possible during the next couple of days after finding out his diagnosis. Koah spent 4 months in the NICU. He was finally allowed to leave the hospital with lots of medical equipment (gtube, 24hr feeding pump, 24 hr oxygen, and pulse ox). We learned everything we could to feel completely confident with taking out baby home with medical equipment. Once Koah was home we had so much to work on. Koah had open heart surgery at 9 months old. Once his heart was fixed Koah was able to slowly remove some of his medical equipment. Koah’s life changed drastically as he was able to move around and play with his sisters. He quickly learned how to move his body to keep up with them. Now at 2 1/2 years, Koah is able to crawl, climb, play, communicate with some words and lots of signs, walk with some assistance, etc. He is taking on the world one step at a time. We are so proud of all his growth and progress. Koah has brought so much love, life, laughter, excitement, and pure joy into our lives and lives of every person he has encountered. He is truly a complete blessing. To know Koah is to love him . His smiles lights up the room. His wave is bigger than a rainbow sharing his love with others he doesn’t know. He teaches us something new everyday. This program brings happiness to my heart because I truly believe that Koah will push to do all the things his sisters will be doing in the future. If college is one of those life events, he may have the opportunity to receive a scholarship and go to our hometown university with with UL Life Program. Starting to share Ruby’s Rainbow Organization now while he is little will allow the organization to grow and reach more families while raising money each year and hopefully help benefit Koah and all his buddies by the time they are in college.
We are thankful to be part of this community.
The Lucky Few Families have been just the most loving humans and we are happy to share that with others.
Koah is a blessing and we love him to the moon and back times infinity .
Love, The LeBlanc Family
