When Hudson was born with a birth diagnosis of Down syndrome, I remember being FLOODED with information regarding specialists, early intervention, and the infamous IEP. All of it felt so new and so overwhelming at the time holding that squishy little newborn in my arms. So much of the last seven years has been prepararon for Hudson to enter public school and begin a thriving educational career. It’s been incredible to see his love for learning grow – and what was once a “pipe dream” of him potentially going to college – well that might one day be a reality as I hope it is for many other students with Down syndrome. It’s time to step up and support these students who choose to pursue additional education in their adult years. Because one day it might just be Hudson too 💙💛
