Jacob joined our family on December 1, 2021. I struggled my entire pregnancy with depression and fear. Fear of the unknown. My mind convinced of the things the world ignorantly displays about Down syndrome.
Holding my son broke through the grief and fear all by the sheer grace of God. I knew I loved this little boy with my whole being and that I would fight for him until my final breath on this earth. I also had no idea how one little extra chromosome would change my life. How many new and wonderful people we’d meet. How our perspective on life would change so drastically. How our perspective would change on disabilities and the way they’re discussed. Or the way a diagnosis is given to an expectant family.
He is perfect. He is loved. He is deserving of love, life, family and an education.
Since learning more about Down syndrome, I was so excited to learn that many young adults attend college. While we have no idea if that is in Jacob’s future, we are incredibly passionate about giving those who want and can go to school financial support.
We are so excited to once again be raising money for this incredible organization!
