Mia Barone – University of Colorado at Colorado Springs

Mia is a two-time Rockin’ Recipient who was awarded her first Ruby’s Rainbow scholarship in 2017. She attends the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs, where she studies American sign language. Her goal is to teach ASL to children.

Mia is in the campus ASL Club and Swimming Club, and she is also active in Zumba and hip-hop dancing. Her favorite experiences at college include playing games, cooking and hanging out with her friends and mentors.

In her scholarship application, Mia wrote that her Ruby’s Rainbow scholarship makes her “feel happy, excited and proud.” We’re so proud of you too, Mia! Keep on rockin’ it at UCCS!
