Kari is set to begin her first year at Judson College, where she plans to major in equine science and minor in history.

Kari graduated high school with a general-education diploma and a 3.5 GPA. She was inducted into the National Honor Society and has also won numerous pageant awards, including Alabama Miss Amazing Teen and several awards in National American Miss Teen Alabama.

Kari works as a hostess at a sports café and has also done extensive volunteer work. “I care about the homeless,” she writes, “because everyone deserves a home. [Volunteer work has made] me feel like I was doing the right thing.” She is also an avid reader and equestrian, and has competed twice in her state’s Special Olympics.

In her scholarship application, Kari wrote, “I work harder than anyone I know. Getting a scholarship means someone recognizes my potential and all my hard work.” We definitely see your potential, Kari! We think you are amazing — keep on rockin’ it at Judson!
