Jessica will begin her second year this fall at Saginaw Valley State University, where she is taking writing classes toward her goal of becoming a children’s book author and illustrator. She is also on the SVSU cheer squad.
Jessica is an accomplished photographer who has won awards for her photographs as well as for horseback riding, physical fitness, spirit and initiative. In high school, she was active on the drama team and in choir, and was on the homecoming court her senior year. She also lettered on the varsity volleyball and basketball teams.
In her scholarship application, Jessica wrote, “My family, friends, teachers and personal staff, all inspire me to do the best I can and believe in me. They help me set goals and reach for them. I remind them to ‘never say never’!” We find that incredibly inspiring! Keep on rockin’ it at SVSU, Jessica!
