Janai will begin her first year this fall in the ACE-IT program at Virginia Commonwealth University. She plans to take courses in early childhood education as well as acting, as she is interested in both working with children and the performing arts.
In high school, Janai was active in numerous clubs and activities including drama, DECA, Young Life, cheerleading and Latin ballet. She has earned numerous certificates and awards in tennis, citizenship and more. She has held jobs at Walmart, TJ Maxx and Art Factory, and she volunteers for her church, helping in the children’s church.
In her scholarship application, Janai wrote, “To receive this scholarship would mean the world to me because it will allow me to continue my education and better myself.” We think that is amazing and inspiring! Keep on rockin’ it at VCU, Janai!
