Anna Mutter is this year’s Ruby’s Rainbow Lovrin Baxter Scholarship Award recipient. She attends Northern Virginia Community College through the Pathway and College Steps programs, with plans to transfer to Millersville University in the future. She completed all the degree requirements to receive her Standard Diploma in high school, and was active in school as manager of the softball team, in Best Buddies and in Panther Panel, a public speaking group. Her favorite subjects are History, Spanish, American Sign Language, Public Speaking and English. Anna is a lifelong Girl Scout, a multi-sport Special Olympics athlete, and an active member of her church, and has traveled on several mission trips to help rebuild houses affected by hurricanes and other natural disasters.

Anna loves to write stories and songs. In a final senior paper, she wrote, “I don’t know exactly what I want to do with my life. But I know what kind of life I want to have. I want a life where I have a job that I enjoy, hang out with friends, make my own meals, go to church, live independently, travel, and give back to charity and my community. I believe that college will help make that happen.” She hopes to work in healthcare in order to help and inspire people. Keep on rockin’ it, Anna — we know you’ll achieve your goals!
