Abigail Tassin is this year’s Ruby’s Rainbow Rachel Hollis Scholarship Award recipient. She will be a freshman at Texas A&M University this fall with the Aggie ACHIEVE program. When she was 14, she visited Kyrgyzstan to speak with other children with Down syndrome and their families, to bring them hope and inspiration. She is interested in acting and directing, and also has dreams of being a teacher someday. Her goals include living on her own, paying her own bills and driving a car.
Abigail says, “I worked really hard to get to this point. I listened to my teachers and learned a lot. My friends include me in everything and they pushed me hard to help me get here. My parents fight for me to be included in everything. It makes me feel good to be included and ready for the next step.” You rock, Abigail — we can’t wait to see all that you accomplish!
