Jessica Libolt

We are the Libolt Family! We live in Center Point, IA with our three children and two dogs.

Parker is our oldest son and we found out shortly after he was born that he had Down syndrome. Parker has taught our family more than we could have ever imagined about life and being a parent of a child with special needs. As a first time parent eighteen years ago, looking to Parker’s future was daunting, unknown and scary. Organizations like Ruby’s Rainbow help parents/families like ours give students, like Parker, the opportunity to learn, grow, flourish and become an important contributor to society and the community. They are dedicated to providing college scholarships to students with Down syndrome, spreading awareness of their capabilities and supporting their dreams of higher education and independence.

Parker is in his second semester at the University of Iowa REACH program, something we never dreamed of when he was born. Parker is a fortunate recipient of the 2023 Ruby’s Rainbow Warriors for Walt Scholarship Award. Our family wants to help provide this same opportunity for other families and students with Down syndrome to achieve all of their dreams and goals.
