Since graduating from the College of Charleston, Sam Hazeltine has been a busy guy.  Not only has he has an official day named after him, he is working and just recently moved out into an apartment with a roommate.  His mom, Cate, had this to say:

Dear Liz,

Thank you for your continued interest in Sam.  I may have mentioned he moved home after graduation.  His domestic skills needed some honing!

He continued to work for GenMoves USA during that time:  full time  in the summer teaching at the Suarez Soccer camp and switching to part time late fall.  Sam interned with GenMoves during college and enjoys working with Temoc Suarez and Nick Kalisperis, two of the owners.  They have taught Sam how to manufacture their equipment, fine-tuned his teaching skills to suit their programs and included him in all aspects of their enterprise.  Amazing people.

At the beginning of January Sam moved back downtown to an apartment very near his old dorm, smack in the middle of campus.  His roommate is a typical grad student studying at MUSC.  Like Sam his undergrad was Exercise Science.  God wink:  they great along well:  Adam (roommate) is a bit OCD about cleanliness which counter balances Sam nicely.  Sam continues to take the bus and work about 18 hours a week for GenMoves.  He is a manager for the College of Charleston Men’s basketball team as he was for his last two years at the College.  He pursued the position entirely on his own.

Sam has a core group of friends downtown.  Many of them graduated from the College either from his program or typically.  He is very happy to be back on his own.  We are happy for him and proud he is  a capable young man.  This is not to say everything is perfect.  We still stress, freak out and subsidize but know this is what is best for him.

Not such a short summery but hope it gives you an overview of Were Sam is now…..

 Fondly,

Cate

I LOVE her complete honesty. I know when it is time for me to let go and let Ruby spread her wings and become more independent I am going to “freak out”!!  BUT…I know it will be what is best for her and I can’t wait to see what she makes of this wonderful life she was given!!

Keep on rockin’ it Sam!  We are so proud of you!!
